What does the Ed Platform do?
By combining advanced technology and comprehensive data, Ed provides easy-to-understand reports about a student’s progress. It also creates action plans based on a student’s strengths, weaknesses and goals. Students will be able to access relevant, District-approved, student-centered online tools and resources to support their acceleration, growth, and achievement. The platform is adaptive to meet each student’s needs. This customized approach will make a student's supplemental skills practice more engaging, effective, and aligned with their individual needs.
How does Ed work?
Ed is an AI platform providing updates and timely notifications to inform families about their student’s progress and to provide resources and support for their student’s learning. Ed uses computer software designed to identify trends in a student’s attendance and academic performance, and it then suggests targeted interventions and activities to support their success.
Origins
AllHere was founded by Joanna Smith, a former teacher and district attendance and family engagement coordinator. Her experience revealed the frustrations that often arise when trying to connect students with the right support at the right time—overwhelming administrative burdens and communication obstacles that divert attention from effective interactions.
What is
responsible AI?
Responsible AI is the practice of designing, developing, and deploying artificial intelligence systems (AI) with good intentions to empower those who use it. Ed was developed with responsible AI at its core. Ed uses a Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) model, which combines AI technology with human expertise and insight. The system utilizes advanced AI algorithms to generate recommendations for educational and support purposes. These AI-driven processes are overseen and enhanced by the expertise of background-checked human moderators who are former educators. They provide insights, context, and support to ensure that the AI algorithms align with educational objectives, adhere to best practices, and maintain ethical standards.
Chatbot
safeguards
Below are the steps we take to keep your data safe, private and secure.
To ensure student data is kept safe, it is all kept private, processed and stored in a secure environment.
Strong human involvement is a key feature, including a continuous review of the AI experience to maintain standards.
Measures like guardrails and filters are in place to prevent hate speech, with clear indicators that the Chatbot, not the district, generates responses.
Users are encouraged to provide feedback to continuously improve the chatbot.
A commitment to fairness and equality reduces the risk of creating unjust content, supported by the cultural diversity of our moderators and AI trainers.
The overarching goal is to support users and safeguard their information while helping students reach their highest potential.
